If you’re looking for a way to challenge your endurance this summer, set a goal to complete the 2022 NOVA Running Club 5K on Tuesday, August 23rd. It will be a nice way to break up your week by getting outside with fellow running enthusiasts and enjoying a bit of exercise in the waning summer sun.
The 5K kicks off at Bluemont Park at 6:30 p.m., which should provide plenty of time to leave the office and get dressed in your running gear before heading over. If you can’t find a spot in the smaller parking lot, don’t worry—there’s plenty of street parking in surrounding neighborhoods. Give yourself a little extra time to get to the starting line before the 6:30 start time. Then you’ll enjoy a relatively easy run out and back along the W&OD bike trail. On the way out, the course slopes slightly uphill—which means you’ll enjoy a slight decline as you head back to the finish line. Not quite up for a 3.2-mile run, but still want to participate? There’s also a two-mile walking option. Sign up in advance ($10 for walkers, $25 for 5K runners) to secure your spot.
